At Realdepartmentsh, we take pride in creating beautiful handmade greeting cards and custom printed matter. Customer satisfaction is our priority, and we hope you are pleased with every card you receive from our Ottawa studio.
Return Eligibility
We accept returns of greeting cards under the following conditions:
- Cards must be returned within 14 days of delivery
- Cards must be in original, unused condition
- Original packaging and envelopes must be intact
- Cards must not be written in or personalized
- Proof of purchase must be provided
Non-Returnable Items
Due to the personalized nature of our handmade greeting card business, certain items cannot be returned:
- Custom designed cards created to your specifications
- Personalized greeting cards with custom text or names
- Cards that have been written in or used
- Sale or clearance items marked as final sale
- Cards damaged due to misuse or mishandling
Defective or Damaged Cards
If your handmade greeting cards arrive damaged or defective, we will gladly replace them or provide a full refund. Please:
- Contact us within 48 hours of receiving the order
- Provide photos of the damaged cards and packaging
- Include your order number and description of the issue
- Keep all original packaging until the issue is resolved
We will arrange for replacement cards to be sent at no additional cost, or issue a full refund if preferred.
Return Process
To initiate a return for greeting cards purchased from realdepartmentsh:

- Provide your order number and reason for return
- Await return authorization and shipping instructions
- Package cards securely in original packaging
- Ship to the address provided within 7 days of authorization
Returns sent without prior authorization may not be accepted.
Shipping Costs
Shipping costs for returns vary depending on the reason:
- Defective or Damaged Cards: We cover all return shipping costs
- Wrong Item Sent: We cover all return shipping costs
- Changed Mind: Customer is responsible for return shipping
- Ordered Wrong Item: Customer is responsible for return shipping
We recommend using a tracked shipping method to ensure safe return of greeting cards to our Ottawa location.
Refund Processing
Once we receive your returned greeting cards:
- We will inspect the cards to ensure they meet return criteria
- Approved refunds will be processed within 5-7 business days
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method
- You will receive email confirmation when the refund is processed
- Allow 5-10 business days for the refund to appear in your account
Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error or defective products.
Exchanges
We are happy to exchange greeting cards for different designs or collections if:
- The cards are in original, unused condition
- The exchange is requested within 14 days of delivery
- The desired cards are in stock
- Any price difference is paid or refunded
To arrange an exchange, please contact us using the process outlined above. Exchanges are subject to availability of our handmade card collections.
Custom Order Policy
Custom designed greeting cards require special consideration:
- A design mockup will be provided for your approval
- Changes can be requested during the design phase
- Once production begins, orders cannot be cancelled
- Custom cards are non-refundable once completed
- We will correct any errors made by our team at no charge
Please review all custom design details carefully before approving production.
Cancelled Orders
You may cancel your greeting card order if:
- The order has not yet been processed or shipped
- You contact us within 24 hours of placing the order
- The cards are not custom or personalized items
To cancel an order, contact us immediately at welcome@realdepartmentsh.world or +1 613 729 6378. Orders already in production or shipped cannot be cancelled, but may be eligible for return upon receipt.
Incorrect Orders
If you receive incorrect greeting cards:
- Contact us immediately with your order number
- Provide photos of the cards received
- Keep all cards and packaging until we respond
- We will arrange for correct cards to be sent
- Return shipping label will be provided if needed
Lost or Stolen Packages
Once greeting cards are delivered to the address provided:
- Risk of loss transfers to the customer
- We are not responsible for stolen packages
- We recommend requiring signature confirmation for valuable orders
- Contact the shipping carrier to file a claim for lost packages
- We will assist with carrier claims when possible
